Everything you need to know about Genesis Uplink Terminal

This Wednesday, Valve added a new type of case in Counter-Strike 2 and this was something we have never seen before ever in the history of Counter-Strike named Genesis which uses Uplink Terminals.

Genesis Collection features 17 new community designed skins and these items can be accessed via Genesis Uplink Terminals, which are available as a weekly drop.

Uplink Terminal is a new sort of container that you receive as a free weekly drop and once you unseal it, you will be able to choose to keep any one skin out of five to six randomly picked items shown to you in this terminal. Here’s a screenshot of Genesis Terminal:

Once you click unseal, the laptop opens up and it shows you one skin randomly as mentioned before, now you have two options:

    • Click I’m in to purchase it

Once you skip the first item, it shows up as another offer and you have the same options again.

One thing to note is that once you skip an offer, you cannot buy that item. The only option you are left with is the current offer which expires with the terminal itself if no decision is made, which is in roughly 3 Days.

And once you buy an item from this terminal, this is how it shows up. “Transaction Completed, Enjoy” and then the terminal closes itself and you have the item you paid for in your inventory.

By adding this Uplink Terminal container, Valve was able to overcome the loot box ban in countries like Belgium, Netherlands and France as they mentioned in one of the release notes.

While this is an interesting feature, many players are upset about the pricing Valve has decided to go with for the skins. For example, one of the players got an offer for StatTrak M4A4 | Full Throttle in Factory New condition for $1,587 US Dollars.

The community reacted both ways and many are waiting for these collection items to get marketable so they get to know what price the players themselves place it rather than Valve’s absurd pricing.
